Detect and isolate Listeria monocytogenes from food samples with Thermo Scientificâ„¢ Oxoidâ„¢ PALCAM Agar Base (Dehydrated). The PALCAM Agar Base is highly selective and contains double indicator system that allows easy differentiation of Listeria monocytogenes, based upon aesculin fermentation, lack of mannitol fermentation and resultant pH change. Listeria monocytogenes is the most common pathogenic Listeria spp. and has been shown to be pathogenic to both humans and animals.
