Product Overview

In alignment with EU Council Directive 2010/32/EU, Swann-Morton has expanded its Retractable Safety Scalpel range to include larger blade sizes: 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, and 25A.

Designed to support existing safe passing protocols, each scalpel features a reinforced temporary lock in the forward user position. This ensures the blade remains extended—even when it encounters hard surfaces or bone during use.

When retracted, the slider mechanism includes a notch that securely holds the blade in place to prevent accidental extension. A permanent rear lock—requiring deliberate pressure—ensures the contaminated blade stays safely retracted for final disposal in a sharps container.

Each scalpel is fitted with a high-visibility red handle, with colour-coded sliders for quick blade shape recognition. Products are supplied sterile, in boxes of 25.
