Cotton MiniTip swab on a plasticised paper shaft, supplied in a peel pouch with Amies Charcoal medium in transport tube. Fully compliant with M40-A2 standards for microbiological transport.

Recommended For: clinically significant sampling, especially urethral sampling; suitable for fastidious and non-fastidious microorganisms

Ideal For

48-hour transport of microbiological samples (clinical and general)

Aerobic, anaerobic, and microaerophilic organisms including:
Pseudomonas spp., Streptococcus spp., Haemophilus spp., Bacteroides spp., Peptostreptococcus spp., Fusobacterium spp., Propionibacterium spp., Prevotella spp., Neisseria spp.

Known Limitations

Single use only – not suitable for reuse or reprocessing

Viability beyond 48 hours may decline – organism loss expected

Cotton tips may stress fatty acid-sensitive strains or reduce recovery
